Andrew Wins in WERA West Finale

The Chuckwalla Valley Motorcycle Association and WERA West had no races scheduled during the summer. Immediately after the summer break Andrew had 3 races in 4 weekends. Below is a brief summary of the highlights from each event.

WERA West Race #6 September 11, 2011 at Auto Club Speedway

In Lightweight Twins Superstock Andrew blasted off the line on his West Coast GP Cycles-CT Racing/Pirelli-shod SV650 to run flag to flag for the win. With this win Andrew held his 2nd position in the class championship and continued to close the gap on the class points leader. In Lightweight Twins Superbike Andrew rode well to finish 3rd, his best finish in this class. Andrew suffered a DNF in Formula 2 due to developmental gremlins with his Formula bike.

CVMA Race #4 September 24-25, 2011 at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway

On Saturday mounted aboard his West Coast GP Cycles-CT Racing/Pirelli-shod SV650 Andrew took the win in Supersport Twins increasing his lead in that class championship then later rode to a respectable 5th place finish in Formula Twins. In the Lightweight Team Challenge Andrew and his teammate, TrackDaz owner Dustin Coyner, pulled almost a full lap lead on the competition to continue their dominance in this class. On Sunday Andrew finished 4th in the Lightweight Shootout leaving him still with a sizeable lead in this class. In Formula Twins Andrew finished 5th moving him up to 3rd in the class championship.

WERA West Race #7 Finale October 1-2, 2011 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

The weather was great at the final round of the WERA West series. On Saturday Andrew rode very well aboard his West Coast GP Cycles-CT Racing/Pirelli-shod SV650 to take 2nd in the Lightweight Solo 20 lap race. This was his best finish of the year and showed how much Andrew had progressed since January. On Sunday Andrew once again took the win in Lightweight Twins Superstock. Unfortunately, Andrew was a few points short of winning this championship due to missing the Buttonwillow round with a broken wrist. In Lightweight Twins Superbike and Formula 2 Andrew finished 4th and 5th respectively and finished in the top 5 in both championships.

Andrew continues to grow and mature as a racer and team member. He is excited about his prospects for the 2012 season and the possibility of racing new venues. Andrew had this to say, "I had a great time racing WERA this season and I want to thank the WERA officials for putting on some great events. I learned a lot about racing and racecraft riding my West Coast GP Cycles SV650. I'm really looking forward to the last 2 rounds at CVMA. I am very thankful to have a great group of sponsors supporting me and making it possible to race at this level."
