Andrew's CVMA 2012 Season Wrap Up!

CVMA Round 4, September 22-23, 2012 and Round 5 October 20-21, 2012 at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway

It was after the summer break and Andrew had just started his Junior year in high school, turned 16, and got his drivers license, but the 100+ degree temps told us we were still in the middle of summer! Andrew had 2 great weekends on his AP Moto Arts-TrackDaz-CT Racing/Pirelli shod SV650 finishing on the podium in all 10 races and winning 2 of those races.

Finally the weather was kind to the racers as the temps were in the high 70's/low 80s with mostly clear skies. This would be Andrew's last race weekend on the SV650 as he will be riding an AP Moto Arts-TrackDaz-CT Racing/Pirelli backed Yamaha YZF-R6 in 2013.

On Saturday, Andrew mounted his AP Moto Arts-TrackDaz-CT Racing/Pirelli shod SV650 and rode well to take 2nd place in Formula 2 and Formula Twins.

Sunday brought about slightly warmer weather and the last races of the 2012 season. First up was Formula 2 and Andrew struggled through the entire race and finished 4th. The AP Moto Arts team quickly went to work on the bike making changes and adjustments for the final 2 races. The next 2 races, Lightweight Shootout and Formula Twins, were seriously fun to watch as Andrew was engaged in epic battles for 2nd place. Andrew lead the other rider in both races and didn't get a break as the other rider hounded him. This only motivated Andrew as he held on to 2nd place in both races.

After the races Andrew said "I have never gone that hard for 8 laps! I was getting tired, but I wasn't going to give up. I'm really happy with my performance today and I have Andy and Omar of AP Moto Arts to thank for that. The changes they made were awesome and really allowed me to battle for the podium spots. I really want to thank my sponsors and everyone who helped me this year exceed my goals!"

2012 was a great racing season where Andrew gained so much experience and racecraft that will benefit him as he moves onto the 600. By running a sustainable development program in a relaxed and fun atmosphere that allows Andrew to progress at his own pace Andrew minimized crashing and had an injury free season. This was made possible by the strong support of his family, friends, team, and sponsors. Andrew also exceeded his goals by winning the Formula Twins and Lightweight Shootout championships, taking 2nd in Formula 2 and he will be running the number 3 plate in 2013. We are excited for the 2013 season and look forward to the continued support of the AP Moto Arts Team and all of our sponsors!

In 2012 CVMA changed their series to a Winter program starting in September and going through April. The 2012 season is over, but January will be the 4th round in the 2013 season. Andrew's next race is Round 4 January 19-20, 2013. This will be a mid-season change for Andrew as he is very excited to be racing his AP Moto Arts-TrackDaz-CT Racing/Pirelli backed Yamaha YZF-R6.

Andrew would like to thank his sponsors, family and friends including:

Andy Palmer and the entire AP Moto Arts team, Dustin Coyner and Trackdaz, Corey and Chris at CT Racing, Racers Edge Performance, Woodcraft, Motul, NJK Leathers, MC Pro Design Catalyst Racing Composites, Loyal Coaching, Suomy, Group 22, and Cycle Gear
